Songs I Sing on Lockdown
/Hello everyone, I have been doing a stand up comedy course with the excellent Funny Women this week and have learnt a lot from it. For the final day we had to write some stand up to perform on Zoom to the rest of the group. Instead my brain did this:
Little boxes on my laptop
Little boxes filled with everyone
Little boxes on my laptop
And on Zoom we will remain
There’s the drunk one and the loud one
And the quiet one and the bossy one
And we're all stuck in our boxes
And on Zoom we will remain
And the people in the boxes
They’re all stuck in with their families
Who are also in their boxes
And on Zoom we will remain
And there’s low-paid low-skilled workers
according to the government
But we need them to deliver
Cos shopping keeps us sane
So there’s no one on the golf course
And there’s no one in the restaurants
And the gin is gone by lunchtime
And on Zoom we will remain
And the children are all home schooled
And the parents haven’t got a clue
About fronted adverbials
And on Zoom they do complain
And the grandfolks can’t use iPads
You can see all of their nasal hair
But they sit there in their boxes
And on Zoom we will remain
Here’s the drunk one and the loud one
And the quiet one and the bossy one
And we all stay in our boxes
And on Zoom we will remain
